Got Pets? Winning The War On Odors

Business Blog

If you're like many people who share their homes with furry friends, you wouldn't have it any other way. However, you probably also find that there are times when you wish that your home didn't always smell as if pets lived there, especially now that the cold weather is setting in and people and pets are both spending more time indoors. If you've got holiday entertaining on the schedule, you undoubtedly want your home interior to smell as fresh and fabulous as possible. Fortunately, there are ways to keep pet odors to a minimum when indoor pets are a part of the picture. Following are five of them.

Use Natural Cleaning Products

Although you may be tempted to use cleaning products containing harsh chemicals designed to mask household odors, this approach often just adds another layer of annoying smells to the pet odors in your home. A spray bottle filled with plain white vinegar makes an excellent all-purpose cleaner, and you can add several drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance if you like. It's also important to keep your pet's bedding clean and fresh. Needless to say, if you're sharing a home with feline friends, cleaning the litter box on a daily basis is important when keeping odors at bay. Using disposable litter boxes also guards against the problem of the litter box itself retaining unpleasant smells—but be kind to the environment and get the disposable litter boxes that are made from biodegradable materials.

Keep Your Canine Clean

A dirty dog is going to smell like a dirty dog no matter how much you clean your home, so make sure that your canine companion gets bathed on a regular basis. Your groomer or local pet supply retailer may be able to recommend a product that will keep your pooch smelling sweet between baths. Keep in mind that extremely strong odors may be a sign of an underlying health condition, so if you and other household members are finding yourselves overwhelmed by your dog's scent, it may be time for a visit to the vet.

Use an Air Purifier

Air purifiers have a lot of benefits for modern homeowners, especially since advances in construction technology have resulted in airtight seals around doors and windows. Although this does wonders for keeping interior temperatures comfortable, it also keeps odors trapped inside. Running a good air purifier not only works as an odor elimination system for pets, but it also removes impurities such as mold spores and dust mites from your indoor environment.

Learning About Small Business Marketing Techniques

Hello, I am Kelly Nessa. Welcome to my website about marketing for small businesses. The way a company markets itself directly controls how people view that entity. Small businesses that do not aggressively advertise do not acquire as many clients as their competitors. Marketing extends far beyond the mail ads of yesterday, though that form of client acquisition still has its place. Now companies are expected to maintain a strong web presence on social media platforms. In addition, company owners need to own and frequently update a personalized website to win over tech savvy customers. I will discuss all of these modern small business marketing techniques on this site. Please visit my website as much as possible to pick up new techniques for your business. Thanks.
